LEGEND: Charles Oakley

"Charles Oakley, when he was the Raptors starting forward, was suspended for one game for throwing a ball at the head of Tyrone Hill, then a Philadelphia 76ers forward, this after he was ejected from a pre-season game for slapping Hill. The source of their acrimony was the spoils of an off-season dice game that totalled about $54,000 (all figures U.S.). When Hill paid back Oakley, Oakley told reporters that Hill still owed interest to the tune of another $54,000.

It’s possible, in that case and the more recent ones, that gambling wasn’t the root of the problem. Oakley was also the guy who interrupted a morning shootaround in 2000 to punch L.A. Clippers guard Jeff McInnis — not over money, but, as legend has it, over a woman"
